January 18, 2010 - Length Check

Hey, Hey, HEEEEY!


I took my sew in weave down last night so that I could wash, condition and length check today. It was a long process, but my hair felt amazing when I was done. I clarified and deep conditioned with my usual ORS products, but this time I added extra virgin coconut oil to my deep condition. I covered my hair up with a conditioning cap and a silk scarf and proceeded to sit under my dryer for 45 minutes. The hair fanatics of youtube kept me busy while I patiently waited for my deep conditioning to end.

My hair was so freaking soft when I rinsed and towel dried my hair. I couldn’t keep my hands out of my curls. Next I applied my Infusium 23 repairologie leave-in along with my Sebastian Potion 9 wearable treatment. I sectioned my hair in two and plaited both sides. It was back under the dryer for another 45 minutes as I waited for my hair to dry completely.

Once my hair was dry, I applied my Chi Silk Infusion to my sections as I got ready to flat iron my hair for my length check. It took forever since I do really small sections. I am in desperate need of a dusting, which I may buckle down and do tonight before I moisturize and seal. Check out my length!


I have a good 2 to 3 inches to go before I hit full bra strap length. I believe that I will achieve that as long as I keep my hair in the protective styles for at least another 5 months. I also want to work on the thickness of my hair, but castor oil is too much for my hair. The build up is crazy and it weighs down my fine strands. I’m going to do my research on thickening hair and hit you good people up with the truth.



Overall I am happy with how things are growing. I really want to get better and better at moisturizing and sealing while my hair is weaved up. I may even try some half wigs soon in order to have better access to my ends nightly. I don’t know…I’ll think about it.
