Quick Tips: Transitioning from Relaxed to Natural

By . - Tuesday, March 13, 2018

Are you interested in transitioning from relaxed to natural hair, but you aren't interested in doing the big chop? Everyone doesn't enjoy short hair. Consider transitioning with braids instead. Be sure to use a braid spray on the braids daily and spray a natural oil like coconut oil, olive oil or castor oil to the hair. Keep the hair moisturized and slowly start cutting your hair every 4 to 6 weeks. In a little over 1 year year you could be 100% natural. It takes a while and requires lots of patience on your end, but it is a reliable way of transitioning.

  1. Hi there, I am looking for a way to make my hair softer as it is very coarse. I am currently transitioning from relaxed to natural, it has been about 8-9 months now and most of the relaxed part of my hair have fallen off and the remainder I trimmed off, so I am now fully natural. I have always had coarse hair even when I was relaxing, my hair never did relax which is one of the reasons I decided to go natural. I was told to do a blow out, which involved putting a small amount of relaxer in my hair, I said no because I do not want any chemicals in my hair anymore. So is there another way to soften my hair without doing a blow out?
