My Review:

Smell – Sweet and Fruity
Consistency – Thin
Slip – Low to Medium

I've always had a love/hate relationship with shampoo. Most brands usually have really harsh detergents in their shampoo, causing my hair to become dry and too squeaky clean. The other brands have these massive bottles that last forever and collect dust in my cupboard. Well, I was pleasantly surprised when I tried AfroBotanics Repairing Shampoo. Not only is the product the perfect size at 200ml, but it's gently and free of sulphates. The scent is pleasant and one wash was enough to remove all debris and build-up from my hair. I would definitely recommend this product for all hair types to use.

If I could change one thing... I would change the title of the product. Shampoos don't necessarily "repair" hair at all as they generally don't stay on the hair long enough to do such a thing. Not to mention that shampoos are for the scalp and conditioners are for the hair. The title is misleading but the product is still great! 4 out of 5 combs

My Review:
Smell – Sweet and Fruity
Consistency – Seriously Thick!
Slip – Low

My favorite time to use this product is right after coming out of braids or a weave. The AfroBotanics Deep Penetrating Moisturising Conditoner does exactly what it says. It puts the moisture and softness right back into the hair almost effortlessly. I would recommend this product for all men, women and children with type 4 or extremely course and kinky hair. The high concentration of castor oil and shea butter will help to soften, detangle and moisturise type 4 hair.

If I could change one thing... I would add some major slip to this product! I have very curly hair and without a good amount of slip in my conditioners, detangling in the shower is a nightmare. I believe all hair types could do with a bit more slip in their conditioners. 31/2 out of 5 combs

This is a real deep penetrating protein treatment. I would categorize it as a low to medium protein treatment, so protein sensitive folks need to take heed and be sure to follow this up with the moisturizing treatment in the range. This is also another great product to try after removing braids and weaves. The Repairing & Strengthening Treatment also contains Mafura Butter! If you're not familiar with this ingredient, check out a few of it's benefits below:
  • It is a non-drying oil that quickly absorbs in the skin
  • It softens and improves the elasticity of the skin
  • Excellent as a hair conditioner
  • Ideal moisturizer to strengthen and softens natural hair
  • Alleviates dry and itchy scalp

Smell – Sweet and Fruity

Since moving to Johannesburg, my hair and skin have really suffered from the dry weather. The AfroBotanics Conditioning Moisturiser has helped tremendously, otherwise I'm pretty sure that every single piece of my coloured ends would snap off. I use this product straight after washing on damp hair, and in the evening before applying an oil. My hair smells great, feels super soft and has a gentle sheen after consistent use. It's a functional product that I think is suitable for all afro textured hair types. 31/2 out of 5 combs

Too lazy to whip your own shea butter hair cream? Good! AfroBotanics has a lovely one made with excellent ingredients. My favorite way to use this product is when I'm styling. I will set a twist-out, braid-out or a flexi-rod set with the Super Hair Growth Creme. My second favorite way to use this product is as a hot oil treatment! I warm up a small amount, apply to my hair from root to tip and sit under a warm dryer for 10 minutes. Soft and shiny hair follows after a good rinse in the shower. If you're a hair food junky and need a fix, you can also apply this creme to your scalp as it doesn't contain mineral oil, petrolatum or paraffinium liquidium. No yucky stuff!

This is by far my favorite product in the entire range. Any product that packs a double or triple punch rings as value for money in my books, and we could all stand to save a buck or two on our hair products. Am I impressed? Impressed would be an understatement! 5 out of 5 combs
