Make It Monday: Honey Shampoo

By . - Monday, February 03, 2014

If you follow this blog religiously, you'll know that I am a big believer in honey. It's such an amazing product to have in your pantry. The benefits to skin and hair are amazing. If you missed my post that I did last month called "It's all good, honey", click here and read all the wonderful things it does for your hair.

For all you ladies that don't use shampoo, and even hate sulfate-free shampoos, this homemade honey shampoo may be right up your alley. It's simple to make, easy to use and 100% natural.

  • 100% Raw Honey
  • Distilled or De-ionized Water
  • Vitamin E
  • Essential Oil (optional)
  1. Warm the bottle of raw honey in a cup of warm water. Do not heat over the stove or in the microwave.
  2. Mix 1 Tablespoon of the honey with 3 Tablespoons of distilled or de-ionized water.
  3. Use 2 Vitamin E capsules for the mixture for it's anti-microbial properties
  4. Add up to 5 drops of your essential oils
This recipe makes a single use. You can make a larger batch if you like, but I would store it in the fridge to keep it fresh.

  1. Apply the mixture directly to the scalp
  2. Massage the scalp well
  3. Rinse thoroughly
  4. Follow with an ACV rinse if you like
It's important to mention that everyones experience will be different. Some folks will have exceptional results immediately, others will go through a transitional period and the rest will hate it. So try it and let me know.
