Please excuse the camera phone pics, life has been way too hectic to pull out a real camera. Anyway, as you you can see, I decided to cornrow my hair and resemble a 16 year old. Am I pushing it? Ok, maybe a 20 year old.
I braided my hair on my own as I've been doing for years. I actually do a similar but flatter pattern of braid as a base to my sew-in weaves. Please don't ask me how I braid like this, I have no way to teach you how to cornrow. I wish I could though :)
I plan to spray my hair nightly with a moisturizing braid spray and seal with a bit of Sunny Isle Jamaican Black Castor Oil. I am using the Sunny Isle Rosemary Jamaican Black Castor Oil Hair Pomade on my edges to keep them neat. Stay tuned for a review of the pomade on the blog very soon.
I plan to keep my hair like this until Saturday or Sunday when I will wash, deep condition and do it all over again. If I can keep this up and leave my hair alone, I'm sure that I will not only retain length, but my hair will be pleased with me.

I am hooked on the sock bun!
ReplyDeleteI do the sock bun once I get tired of my braids.
DeleteYou are talented!
ReplyDeleteThank you, Lisa :)
DeleteI have a similar corn row protective style in right now. It's kept me out of my hair as I tend to pick at it when it's lose. I love my big curls and love running my hands through em but I've noticed that my hair prefers low manipulation. Gonna do corn rows more.
