Protective Style - I'm Back In Braids!

Wearing My Braids Like Patra!
I'm back in medium size box braids for the following 8 weeks. Protective styling is something that I have implemented in my healthy hair journey in order to retain length. My goal is to reach waist length by December, but I believe that I will make mid-back length instead. No worries though. I reach for the moon and land among the stars.

Braided and Dipped In Hot Water
Before I braided my hair, I made sure to wash with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Creamy Aloe Shampoo and deep conditioned with Organic Root Stimulator Olive Oil Replenishing Conditioner. I proceeded to use The L.O.C. Method to moisturize and seal my hair. I used Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair Vital Oils For Hair & Scalp to seal the water into my hair. Then I used the Organic Root Stimulator HAIRepair Intense Moisture Creme to seal in the oil. My hair was moist and soft when it was completely air dried.
Braided and Pinned Up

I braided my hair with Darling Super Star Hot Water braiding fiber. This synthetic hair is much softer than most. I braided with the greatest of ease and the braids seal quickly with a dip into hot water. I am pleased with the overall results. Stay tuned for my review of the Darling New Millenium weft hair and the Darling Super Star braiding fiber.

I plan to spray my hair with water every other day and continue The L.O.C. Method until my 8 weeks are up. I will wash my hair weekly with Dr. Miracles Curl Care Sulfate and Paraben Free Shampoo. Stay tuned for my review of the entire Dr. Miracles Curl Care line of products. I will be massaging the hairline with castor oil nightly to protect myself from thinning edges.

Are you protective styling? How do you keep your hair healthy during the process?

Have a Good Hair Day!!!

  1. Hi Kavuli! I have relaxed hair but I absolutely love your blog :) :) I'm also getting braids, just to give my hair a break and I was wondering what your regimen is when you have braids?
