My Review

I was extremely nervous about this product. I have never used a 2-in-1 Shampoo in my entire life, and the idea of shampooing without a traditional deep conditioning afterwards was enough to give me a mini anxiety attack. I squeezed a small amount of product into my hand, and the entire shower filled with a wonderful smell of peppermint. Aromatherapy must really work, because my anxiety dissipated as I applied the shampoo to my soaking wet hair. I felt a pleasant tingle but nothing too hectic. I became worried when the shampoo didn’t lather well the first time, but I attributed this to the fact that I was product heavy the week before.
“Aromatherapy must really work, because my anxiety dissipated as I applied the shampoo to my soaking wet hair.”

I squeezed another small amount into my palm and applied directly to my scalp this time. A felt plenty of suds between my fingers and on my hair. I rinsed my hair under lukewarm water to remove all of the soap, and then I switched to cool water to close my hair cuticle. So what was the result? Soft hair believe it or not. My hair wasn’t stripped clean, but I also didn’t feel any build-up from past products. So, everything wasn’t completely perfect because I have one issue... why is there Sodium Laureth Ethyl Sulphate in a natural hair care product? Not to worry, JO’M is planning on replacing this ingredient with a more suitable one for natural hair. Overall, I give JO’M 2 in 1 Hair Shampoo 3 out of 5 combs.

  1. Thank you for your honest review. I have locs and I am always on the lookout for products that cater to my form of natural hair. I'll keep on the lookout for other reviews of this very same product. I also have to agree with you, re: SLS in a natural shampoo. I really do hope they change it. Companies look after their bottom line, I guess (profit), so 'natural' on the box with a couple other natural ingredients jumps out at us natural hair wearers. When indeed, they need to be responsible and also include all natural ingredients in their products, too. :)
