An Alternative To Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor

By . - Friday, November 18, 2011

Everyone that has suffered from major breakage and has used Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Constructor to bring their hair back to health has raved about the product. Unfortunately, the reality is that not everyone can afford the Aphogee line of protein based products, and not everyone has access to the line in their country. So what is a cheaper and more accessible alternative? I have a recipe for you that is a hard protein treatment just like the 2 minute reconstructor. Try it out!

Gelatin Hair Treatment

  • 1 Packet of Unflavored Gelatin
  • 1/2 Cup of Mayonnaise
  • 1/2 Cup of Boiling Water

Directions

  • Pour the unflavored gelatin into the boiling water and stir until contents are mixed well.
  • Allow the mixture to cool down for 2 minutes
  • Add 1/2 cup of mayonnaise and mix very well
  • Apply mixture to the hair in sections from root to tip
  • Cover head with a conditioning cap and allow mixture sit on the head for 30 minutes.
  • Rinse this mixture out thoroughly and follow-up with a moisturizing deep conditioner for 30 minutes
  • Rinse, air dry or style as usual

This gelatin hair treatment is just as good as the Aphogee Keratin 2 Minute Reconstructor and more than half the price. Try this out and let me know how you like it. Don't forget to always follow this up with a moisturizing conditioner to combat hard brittle hair.

Have A Good Hair Day!!!

    1. Hi Belinda, it's one standard packet of unflavored jelly. The same amount that's in the flavored packs. I don't know the grams off the top of my head. Maybe 30 grams or so...
