Nearly one week ago as I was walking through Clicks Sandton City shopping for nappies, I walked through the "ethnic hair care aisle" (someone shoot me in the eye!) and got this uncontrollable urge to install box braids. Most of you know that I braid my own hair and have for years, but where I was going to find the time to do this with a full schedule and a 7 month pregnant belly was beyond me. Being one that never backs down from a challenge, I went ahead and bought 4 packs of braiding hair.
I moisturized my hair with Design Essentials Natural Daily Moisturizing Lotion and used Design Essentials Natural Honey Curl Forming Custard with Honey & Chamomile for hold while braiding.
I proceeded to braid my hair over the course of 2 days because I got it like that, but before I started braiding, I had to prepare my hair for what was to come.
I washed my hair twice with Design Essentials Natural Curl Cleanser and followed up with the Design Essentials Stimulations Super Moisturising Conditioner.

Here are my results. Please excuse the pics that aren't so clear. I really haven't had time for selfies, but I promise to post clearer pics that show the full length. They are really long.
I plan to leave these in for a month and possibly go into a sew-in kinky weave right before I give birth to baby. Basically, my hair will be covered for the next 3 to 4 months and I'm keen since I haven't done a protective style since sometime in 2014. I've really been enjoying my hair. Stay tuned for more updates and clearer pictures soon.

exciting times with baby on the way!
I don't know! Practice makes perfect and I really don't like anyone touching my hair. I'm definitely a DIYer.
DeleteSo excited about baby <3
Hi, I just want to ask what and where specific store you bought that hair extension? I am searching for hair markets in Johannesburg selling assorted kind of hair extension. Luckily, I will stay in Park Inn Hotel which is located in Sandton. Hope to get your reply.
ReplyDeleteI bought this braiding hair from Clicks Pharmacy.
