I remember the Twitter comments I got the night I chopped my hair off for the 3rd time in 12 years. They weren't favorable at all. Some folks thought that I was going through some sort of personal drama, while the others just thought I would regret it in the morning. I'm happy to say that although I've had my fair share of personal drama, it's not the reason I chopped my hair off and I haven't regretted a simple step of this ride.
I decided that I just wanted to focus on my curl pattern and general hair health before I went back to my life long obsession of length. I have grown my hair longish in the past so it's not my first rodeo, but this time I wanted it to be different. I wanted my followers to have a chance to grow with me as well. I've spent the first half of the year enjoying my hair and wearing it out every single day. Often times as girls with hair length goals, we don't take the time to enjoy our hair. Well now that I've spent some time enjoying it, I'm ready to put it away for the winter and focus on length.
The rest of the year will be focused on protective styles and hair challenges. A six week sew-in hair challenge will be underway, as well as a coconut and castor oil challenge. All of these methods have helped me retain significant length over the years, so if it an't broke, don't try and fix it. Along the way, I'll be touching on all things that stimulate the hair follicles and promote a healthy scalp.
