Natural Oils That Provide Much Needed SPF For Your Hair

By . - Tuesday, November 26, 2013

It's finally warm in South Africa and as I slather SPF all over my face and skin, I couldn't help but feel that my precious strands need protection as well. Should I try rubbing this thick white cream on my hair? No, ma'am! I knew there had to be a better way, and you know I come to you with the best information I can find.

Certain natural oils provide SPF protection from the sun that rivals any product you could find at your local chemist. It's all natural, great for the hair and safe for the whole family to use. Below I you a list of oils and their various SPF protective ranges.

Red Raspberry Seed Oil - SPF of 28 to 50 (Protects against UVA & UVB rays!)

Carrot Seed Oil - SPF of 38 to 40

Wheatgerm Oil - SPF of 20

Soybean Oil - SPF of 10

Shea Butter - SPF of 6 to 8

Macadamia Oil & Hempseed Oil - SPF of 6

Coconut Oil - SPF of 4

OTHERS:

Jojoba Oil, Sesame Seed Oil, Grapeseed Oil, Avocado Oil - SPF of 4

Sea Buckthorn Oil & Rice Bran Oil - SPF 2 to 4

So mix a few of the above oils together and rub through your hair 30 minutes before going out into the sun. Don't forget to reapply throughout the day to protect your precious strands!

Have a Good Hair Day and remember to Love Your Hair!!!
