March 2013 Length Check

By . - Monday, March 25, 2013

I just wrapped up the Grow With Me Protective Style Challenge last week and removed my braids that I rocked for just under 8 weeks. I decided to give my hair a bit of TLC for a day or two before straightening my hair for a length check. I absolutely love length checks and it's a personal choice to straighten my hair for them. I am fortunate enough to know how to straighten without damage.

As you can see from the picture above, I have gained and retained at least 1 inch of hair growth. My hair is soft and responding very well to the regimen I have been working lately. It was even easier to flat iron my hair this time around. I plan to allow my hair to rest for another week and a half, and then I plan to go into another 8 week protective style. This time I will go for a sew in weave and I hope to retain another inch or more.

Will there be another challenge to go with my protective style? You better believe it! I honestly enjoy protective styling with you guys.

Stay tuned to find out what my hair goal is for June 2013.

Did you participate in the Grow With Me Protective Style Challenge? If so, were you able to retain length during the 8 weeks? Let us know in the comment section below.

    1. Thanks, KLP! I enjoyed having my hair braided until it got messy towards the end. The length retention made the whole process worth it.

  2. I did participate in the challenge and I gained a little length and a wealth of knowledge about my hair and its needs. I am going to style my hair in my first ever high bun mohawk for Easter Sunday. I dont think I would have had the courage to try it had it not been for.everything I learned in.the last two months. Thanks, Coach!!!
