Welcome!

For those of you that aren't familiar with what I am talking about, SITS is a group of 40,000 women bloggers dedicated to supporting one another by leaving comments & learning about blogging.I've been apart of this community for over a year now, and I was over the moon when I got that email saying that it was finally my time. If you are looking to be apart of a community that is encouraging and helpful whilst drawing traffic to your site, SITS is for you. Join today!

To all the women visiting from SITS *waves* Hey ladies!

Welcome to Good Hair Diaries or GHD as I now like to refer to it. My name is Kavuli and I am passionate about DIY hair care. I decided to start this blog back in September of 2009 after reading an article written in the New York Times about natural ethnic hair. Being an African woman living in South Africa , I believed that I had something valuable to say to my community. It is possible to have the head of hair of your dreams with proper care and information. You can attain it all by yourself!

GHD cares about one type of hair only...HEALTHY HAIR! I love natural, transitioning, relaxed and locked hair, and my goal is to provide information to women of every hair group without bias.
I have been relaxed, weaved, wigged, braided up and cut short. I am currently natural with near mid-back length curly hair. Follow me as I review products, interview the natural hair community, figure out a solid hair regimen, research ethnic hair care and ramble about all those things that make GOOD HAIR!

Enjoy my blog and be sure to leave a comment so that I may visit your blog.

Have a Good Hair Day!!!

  3. Congrats, Kavuli! DIY is where it's often at. I've cut my own (natural) hair for years.

  4. Happy SITS day! I got the nerve to cut my own layers from a YouTube video actually, and receive more compliments than when I had the salon do it! So I am definitely on board with hair DIY.

OK, this goofy comment system is determined to make me anonymous -- I'm NOT! I'm Jessie the Jester Queen http://jesterqueen.com. Just don't want you thinking I'm some SITS spammer :) (Not that there is such a thing)

I never knew much of anything about black women's hair until I watched Chris Rock's movie. It was an eye opener to me for sure! You have a lovely blog, and I hope that it being your SITS day is a huge blessing for you!

  25. Oh happy day!! :)

I am pinning your Homemade Super Hair Conditioner to try. We swim pretty much every day here in the summer, you can imagine what the sun/chlorine/salt water does to our poor locks. Thanks!
