Name: Linda
Age Range: 28 years young
Hair Type: 4B Very Fine
When did you start your healthy hair journey?: July 2009 (seems like it was just yesterday)
To big chop or not to big chop? That is the question...: I'm all for the BC but personally wasn't ready for it. I did mini chops and covered my hair in braids, weaves and wigs until my hair was at a length that I was comfortable with.
What is your protective hairstyle of choice?: Braids, braids, braids! I'm thinking about getting a braided up-do by Sabines Hallway here in Brooklyn. Several of my friends have gotten their hair done by her and they always looked amazing!
Favorite hair products and why?: Jane Carter's Twist and Lock. It leaves my twist feeling amazing and non greasy. The problem is that it runs about $17-$22 for a small amount, but I make it a point to budget it in.
Finish this Sentence: My hair is at it's happiest when...I leave it alone. I still relapse into 'Hand in Hair' syndrome but I've been getting better at getting it under control.
What does 'Good Hair' Mean to you?: Good hair is when my hair is healthy and well moisturized.
Thanks for sharing your healthy hair journey, Linda! I hope your story encourages more sisters with type 4 hair to share and encourage other women.
